Have you seen Krissy? Me either!! but Gracie sees and talks to her ALL THE TIME! At first I thought she was just talking about her doll named Krissy but then I realized that, no, Krissy goes everywhere with us. It was actually quite funny the other day we were at the store and Gracie said 'stop mom, Krissy has to get in the buggy with us". Krissy also goes to the doctor, to school, or anywhere else Gracie thinks of "taking" her. The next time you see Gracie ask her about Krissy. Do any of your kids have imaginary friends?

OB/GYN = PCP, right?
So believe it or not I do not currently have a primary care physician. Some may ask how can that be, but honestly I've not needed one. I have been pregnant every year since 2003 (I had a miscarriage early 2004) resulting in my OB/GYN taking care of any issues I may have had. The problem now though is that I need to find a PCP and have no idea where to start. Ok I have an idea, my preferred physician list, but other than that I'm open to recommendations. I don't care if they are in H'ville or in town I just want them to be good and not a drug reps favorite docotor :) So any recommendations?
Thank God for the mess!
My heart has been so heavy the last couple of weeks for families that I have never personally met however they have impacted my life. Just yesterday I read the words that a little boy I was introduced to by Ashley's blog and have been praying for has gone to be with Jesus. This little boy only turned 4 on Wednesday and left this earthly place on Thursday. Oh how my heart aches for his family. I can not imagine what they have gone through these past 10 months but I do know through it God has been glorified. As I sat last night and processed it, especially with my oldest being 3 1/2, I wondered "why us? why us God that we would be so blessed to have 3 healthy children?" I'm not saying that in any way I would wish this on our family; on the contrary I selfishly pray that God will not ask this of me, but why? I know the answer to the question and I know that God too is hurting for this family but like most things it still baffles me.
The words of Joseph's mother though on the latest blog post are what are impacting me the most. Here's what she says.....
Now we are left with the pain, the memories, the knowledge that there will be no soccer games, no first day of school, no more cars and trains strewn all over the house. Oh, how I will miss that. How I will miss being needed. He has been my job, my responsibility for the last four years. My life has been devoted to raising him, loving him, teaching him, being there for him, protecting him. Even after he died and he was lying back there on our bed, I felt the need to be with him as others said goodbyes. He always wanted me with him and I felt I needed to protect him and make sure he was all right with people coming in. I feel like my other half is gone. He has been my constant companion. I always felt like he needed me so much, and sometimes I wished he didn't. Now I realize I need him too.
If you're reading this say a special prayer today for Joseph's family and hug your children tight. If there are toys everywhere and your kids are driving you crazy PRAISE GOD! for you have healthy children. Lets not take the small stuff for granted anymore.

Wardrobe.... what's that?
One of the biggest things that has frustrated me about becoming a mom is the rollercoaster ride my closet has been on. I know this may sound vain but in all seriousness only 2 of the last 4 years have I been in "normal" clothes and those have been 4 different sizes. Now here I sit in the biggest size thus far not wanting to spend much money on clothes that I hope to not be in for long but also not having anything to wear for the up coming season. So for those of you out there that have gone through or are going through this, where is a good place to find some cute clothes without breaking the bank?

For Sale
I just posted this on Craigslist but I also wanted to put it on here. Jeremy and I are selling our entertainment center and matching tables. We love these pieces but they just don't work with our new floor plan. If you or someone you know are interested in them and would like more info either leave me a comment or email me!

What or Where
Twinkle, twinkle little star
how I wonder (what/where) you are
Help me out people, which is it? Jeremy and I sing it differently and it has become a huge debate at our house. How do you sing it at your house?

Are you......
I've begun to notice this funny little trend happening and I wanted to share it and see who else this is happening to. I was at the consignment sale tonight working and over heard someone say this ladies name. It wasn't a name you hear all the time but I had seen it on my friend's blog so I asked if she was the same person. Of course she was so I introduced myself since we had been commenting on the same blog. Here's the funny part, the girl I was checking out was like "are you Sarahisms"? Ha! Yes I am now referred to by my blog name and not my real name! She then introduced herself by her blog name!! Hmmmm, makes me wonder what my kids will be called in a few years. :)

consignment 101
Like I said in an earlier post it's consignment time in TN with the best sale happening this weekend. With that being said I wanted to share some pointers with you to make shopping at one of these sales more enjoyable.
1) Bring some sort of basket or container to hold your goodies. Clothes become very heavy as you tote them around and get in the way as you look through racks; toys and shoes are also cumbersome. Having somewhere to put everything and free up your hands can make or break your shopping experience.
2)Bring a friend. We all know shopping with a friend is more fun, right? A friend also comes in handy when you pick up that outfit that you just don't know if you REALLY like it or not and/or to keep you accountable to stick to your budget. Personally I like to make a night of it and even go for dinner afterwards.
3)Don't bring your kids. I know you're probably thinking that you want to bring them so that you can hold things up and see if they fit but if at all possible measure them prior and bring the measurements with you. There is nothing worse than trying to shop for clothes and also trying to keep up with your kids, especially if they're young. Being by your self (or with a friend) will also enable you to relax, take your time, and make better purchasing decisions.
4)Don't go strictly by what's written on the card. All consignors mark their own cards so because we're human there can be size mistakes. If you are shopping for a particular size and find a shirt and pant together you may want to double check and make sure they are the same size. Sometimes you may find that someone has put a 2T top with an 18mo bottom (or vice versa) because of the way it wears which may or may not be what you need.
5)All sales are final so be sure to thoroughly check each piece. The workers do their best to check each item however lighting is different everywhere you go so some spots may get over looked. Most of the time though the ones that "fall through the cracks" can be sprayed with a little Shout and get it right out. If you do happen to make it home with an outfit that has a flaw remember you still got a good deal since you won't be paying full retail for it and put it in with the play clothes.
6)HAVE FUN!!! It's fun looking at all the different clothes, shoes, and toys for kids, you won't believe the selection. No matter your style you will be able to find piece you love at this sale!
I hope this helps those who are new to twice annual consignment sales. If you shop and have any advice to share or if you're new and have a question leave a comment.

I need a new name
hmmmm what could it be? Since we've moved to H'ville my current address really doesn't fit anymore (whitehousemommy) so I need to change it. Here's my dilemma, 1)I'm not sure what to change it to & 2)I don't know how to do it even if I had a different name. Can someone please help me out?!?!
Blue Dot update
Do you remember this post? I called today to find out about getting my blue dot and the lady told me that all they actually need is your address. So if you don't have a blue dot and you are not getting the city newspaper but would like to give them a call and they'll add you to the list. The number is 824-8480. See wasn't that nice of me to look the number up for you! :) She didn't say how long it would take to get my first copy but I'm crossing my fingers for next week. I'll let you know!
