My new BEST friend

FOLEX!!!!!!!!!!

You may have seen this mentioned on other blogs recently but I just had to tell you my story. The other day Carleigh came into the office and said she wanted her toenails painted. I looked down and noticed that she had obviously already tried to do it herself. I immediately asked her if she had it anywhere else knowing full well that somewhere in my house was BRIGHT PINK nail polish!! Sure enough she said "u
h huh" and proceeded to show me where it was. Can you believe it was on the step you see AS SOON you walk into my house. I ran and got the polish remover and cotton balls thinking that it would get out the majoirty of it. It did do a great job soaking most of it up but as you can imagine there was still a relatively large pink spot. That's when I thought about the Folex. I sprayed it on, scrubbed it with my fingers and then rubbed it with a cloth. I had to do this several times and LOTS of elbow grease was involved but can you believe it came out!! Here are the before and after pictures. If you actually live in your house you need to have a bottle of this stuff...it gets out EVERYTHING and it's non-magnetic so the stains don't come back. You can get it at Walmart (did you know that Walmart no longer hyphenates its name??) for around $4!!

On your mark. Get set.....

Start TAGGING!!!! Yes it is once again that time of year when people all over the area (and even some from far away) drag out all their kids out grown clothes, shoes, and toys to get them ready to sell in local consignment sales. With the economy being what it is this year I'm guessing that it will be a GREAT year for consignment sales as people are looking for ways to stretch their dollar as well as make some extra money.

As I've mentioned before I help my friend Brea at her sale, which I truly believe is the BEST sale, Encores and More North. This year the sale is going to be located next to Old Navy in Rivergate in the old Goody's building...seriously people you are not going to believe how BIG this sale is. The dates for the sale are March 7-14 with drop off being Feb 28-March 4, the worker sale on March 5 and consignor/friend/new mom sale in March 6. Also be sure to check out the *NEW* Tagging program it will make tagging a breeze for you as well as cutting down some of the waiting time at drop off.

So you would really like to get rid of some of that stuff taking up room in the attic but don't really feel like doing all the tagging? GREAT!! Check out the VIP link to see how you can have it all done for you, all you have to do is get your stuff together, make sure everything follows the guildline for what is accepted , and schedule a pick up. Voila! Your check will be mailed to you on March 17!! (you will be responsible for picking up any unsold items on March 15 if you chose that option)

The other links to check out are the worker and bartering links. If you have ever been to one of the sales on consignor night you know that it can be a little overwhelming. By working and/or bartering you can shop a day early as well as avoid the long lines...not to mention a $50 credit if you do 3 shifts!!

I'm telling you I am so excited about this sale AND the location I can hardly contain myself :) I hope to see you there!

*******on a side note I would love to urge you to consider donating any of your unsold items. As stated earlier we all know that economic times are hard for many families and finding clothes at reasonable prices, even consignment at times, can put a strain on budgets. If you go here you can see a list of the charities to which Encores and More North donates items.

I wasn't going to post this,

but hey it's Monday and we all need a good laugh. If we are friends on FB you may have seen my status the other day that the toy room was re-opened. I've had a couple of people ask me about this so here's the story behind it.

Gracie and I had gone to the store to pick up a few things. When we got home I noticed that Jeremy had given Carleigh a bath so I asked what had happened. He told me that she was playing in the toy room and had pooped her diaper. Apparently she was sitting on her feet, no she didn't have any britches on, and got some of it sqeezed out and got on her foot. The bad part is we wouldn't find WHERE she had pooped. We could smell it but couldn't find it. now before you think this is groser than it really is you have to understand that we have BROWN carpet in the toy room. It is really nice to have this carpet except when you are searching for poop. I tried to go around the room and find it was more scared of stepping in it. Thus this is why we closed the toy room. We gave it a couple of days, until the smell went away (hence it was dry) and then started putting the toys away knowing we would find it. Luckily I noticed some brownish residue on the sit-n-spin...CHA CHING...poop is found!! And yes the carpet DID get cleaned!! Here's a picture so you can know that this was a little like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Oh the things they don't tell you that you will have to do when you become a parent! :)
