Diamonds are a girl's best friend

And now maybe even your wallet's!! On tonight's newscast they did a story on how De Beer's is in a class action lawsuit and there are millions of dollars being distributed. Here's the link to the news story: http://www.wsmv.com/news/15122392/detail.html
follow the link off of that page to the online claim form page. I don't know how much, if any, money you might receive but it's worth a couple of minutes of your time to see!!

*** You did not have to make a purchase from a De Beer's store to get the refund. All purchases had to be made from 1994-2006***

40 gallons

That is how much paint I have bought since Friday. The Home Depot was having a sale and we needed paint so why not get it all at once?!?! Now we just have to get it on the walls, ceilings, and trim. I'll post pictures as we get it done.

Just to break it down, this includes: 10 gallons of ceiling paint, 4 gallons of trim paint, 2 gallons of primer, and 24 gallons (13 colors) of wall paint. :)

8 Things about my girls

Well I guess since I got tagged by several people I should let you know a few things about my girls.....

#1-they love each other and are best friends. I love it when they wake up in the morning and are anxious to love on each other.

#2-Gracie is a little mommy. She can make anything into a baby and find just about anything for a blanket. It's so sweet to see/hear her with her babies, especially when she disciplines them!!

#3-Carleigh is really spunky, hilarious, and a comedian. She is definitely going to be the class clown.

#4-Gracie is very independent and stubborn. She wants it her way and will push to get it.

#5-Gracie talks ALL the time! It's funny though to hear the stories she makes up and who she's talking to. it's really funny when she "calls" one of her grandparents to tell on me!!

#6-my new favorite thing the girls do is holding hands all the time. Once we get down the stairs at the apartment they want to hold hands to the car and are really sweet about it.

#7-both girls are really smart. Maybe I'm a little biased but it blows me away at the things they know and do.

#8-they LOVE their daddy! The way they squeal and care on when he comes through the door is PRICELESS.

That's my list, what about you? I'm going to tag Ray, Brea, Kim, Jennifer, Miriam and Laura...can you name 8 things about your kids?

Oh and Heather.....it's seriously time for you to start a blog so I'm tagging you and this can be your first post!

We're moving AGAIN...at the end of February

Yes apparently Jeremy and I enjoy having a crazy life! Since August we have put our house on the market, found out I am pregnant, gave away our 2 dogs, sold our house, moved into an apartment, and have now bought a house. Throw in softball season, Gracie starting school, and the holidays and you'll understand why I seem to be in a daze. :)

No, actually the house we've bought is a tremendous blessing and I'm still in awe that it is now officially ours. You see our new house was on the market almost a year and is literally 2 minutes from Jeremy's parents. We would drive by it all the time but never in a million years would have thought we could afford it. Finally just before Christmas we decided to go and look at it and see if it was something we would even consider. It's an older home that needs updating but we're not opposed to some sweat equity so we gave them an offer. After some back and forth we finally agreed on a price that in all honesty only God could have orchestrated...almost $40,000 less than what it was originally listed for!!! Being in the apartment isn't so bad either considering now we have somewhere to stay while we get a few things done prior to moving in. The next 6 weeks or so are going to be busy but in the long run it will be so worth it. I'll try to post pictures at some point!

Name that baby

You would think that since we have 2 girls coming up with a boy name would be easy...WRONG!! I don't know if it's because we've had so much going on or what but we just can't seem to come up with anything. There are actually a couple I like which Jeremy doesn't and 1 he likes but I don't care for it. Our hardest thing too is that we have pretty much all of our family here so more times than not we think of a name and then go nope that's cousin so-and-so' name or their kids name or we have a friend with the name. The first baby is easy but after that it gets really hard.

so any suggestions on names? Just know though that it's not personal if we don't chose your name!!

I stole this from Carrie

Hey at least I'm honest! Carrie had this on her blog and I thought it was so good I decided to steal it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.

2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3.) Buy a Tivo (DVR), tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4.) When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘My purpose is to________ today.’

5.) Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6.) Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last year.

7.) Always pray and make time to exercise.

8.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of Six.

9.) Dream more while you are awake.

10.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that are manufactured in plants.

11.) Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli , almonds & walnuts.

12.) Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13.) Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14.) Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control.
Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like
algebra class …….but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16.) Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17.) Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18.) Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

19.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20.) Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21.) You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22.) Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

23.) Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24.) Ladies - Go on and burn those ’special’ scented candles, use the 600 thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy
lingerie now. Stop waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special.

25.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

26.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?’

27.) Forgive everyone for everything.

28.) What other people think of you is none of your business.

29.) Time heals almost everything. Give time, time!

30.) However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

31.) Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch with them.

32.) Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

33.) Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. God provides remember?!

34.) The best is yet to come. (in Heaven)

35.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

36.) Do the right thing!

37.) Call your family often.

38.) Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:
‘I am thankful for __________.’
‘Today I accomplished _________.’

39.) Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

40.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don’t want a fast pass.
You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH. LIFE’S A GIFT … UNWRAP IT!

Cravings

Isn't it funny how when you're pregnant you crave certain things? when I was pregnant with Gracie I craved M&Ms. The funny thing was that it HAD to be the big bag. I wanted to be able to rake my fingers through them. It cracked the ladies at work up because the normal bag that is sold OTC just wouldn't cut it. Then with Carleigh there wasn't really a specific but it had to be sweet. Now with this pregnancy I crave french fries and chips. What do/did you crave while being pregnant?

Dream job

Do you have a dream job? Is there something that you would LOVE to do if money, time, and as in my case childcare wasn't an option? A friend recently posted on her blog that she would like some help getting organized. This is my DREAM job. I love those shows like Clean Sweep and How Clean is your House,. I love plastic storage containers, things having a place, and mostly my label maker (that I just received as a Christmas present). I will, however, be the first to admit that the decorating part of these shows isn't my strong suit. I can help with getting things into a better flow but trying to pick accessories to jazz up the room...not so much. I guess that's why my house doesn't have much.

So the question stands...what's your dream job?

Questions for 2008

Yes I can be a random person! Here are some questions I've been pondering these first couple days of the new year:

*Why does the post office not have a drive-thru? Or at least some sort of ATM type machine just to purchase stamps? Like I want to take both of my girls out of the car in the FREEZING cold just to buy a book of stamps!!!

*Why do the movie theaters get away with charging an arm and a leg for candy? I guess I can understand the popcorn thing but come on they charge $3.00 for the same bag of candy that I can go to the store and pay $1.50 for. (I know, I know...just go to the store first)

*Where can I find a really good cookbook with real recipes? I'm a southern girl at heart and I just want some meat and potato recipes!!! I hate trying to find something new to cook and only finding froo froo (sp?) recipes.

These are a just a few, stay tuned for more!
